I've been putting off writing a blog post for quite a while. Let's get real - I've been procrastinating big time. When I decided today is the day, Spirit came rushing in and said, "FINALLY!!!"
Spirit's In The House
I pulled cards for myself this morning, as I usually do. I journaled my reading. I decided to set a goal and finally write a blog post today. And when I looked at the draft post I had started writing weeks ago, well... The two cards that are the foundation for this post (that I had already chosen) are two of the cards I pulled for myself this morning. Yup. Spirit is hilarious. The two cards are: The Hermit and The Hierophant.
Ok, Spirit. I hear you. Loud and clear.
The Hermit
Most of us can relate to The Hermit Card. Taking time to go within, discovering who we are, and doing our inner work. For me, that means: staying home (yay!), seeing no one (yay!), finding peace and quiet (yay!), and doing some soul searching. This is a great idea - but we can't always be looking inward. Well, we can, but we shouldn't. Why not? It feels so good, so comfortable. But comfort isn't always our friend.
The Hierophant
The Hierophant Card asks us to build relationships, to learn from others, and perhaps be teachers ourselves and share our knowledge and wisdom. To figure out who we are, what we stand for, and why we are here. It can also ask us to find like-minded people with whom we can discuss our thoughts and ideas. Living in woo woo, we need the support of people who also burn sage and palo santo, put crystals in their bras and see signs and synchronicities like we do. This means we need to go out into the world. We need to belong.
The Market and The Temple
One day in yoga class, my instructor told the story, "The Market and The Temple". In brief, it says that we shouldn't spend all of our time in either place. What is needed is a balance between going inward and going outward. If we spend all of our time in the temple, we can't help others. If we spend all of our time in the market, we can't do our inner work. Kind of like being in the world, but not of the world. We need other people to function, to exist, and to belong, but we also need to remember that part of us is spiritual and needs a higher connection to source. And that comes from going within.
It's Too Peopley Outside
It isn't easy being an introvert. And/Or an empath. Especially when we want to be of service to others. Sometimes we just don't feel like it. And that's when we say "Don't make me go out there, it's too peopley outside!" We are all called to go out into the world to share our gifts and talents. It's fine to take time for yourself and practice self-care. But don't neglect the side of you that needs to shine out in the world. Don't make excuses for not being around other people. Use your intuition and discernment to choose friends wisely. Guard your energy and replenish yourself daily. Work on yourself but not to the exclusion of others. People need you so be there for them. Balance your inner work with your outer work.
Get out there and fulfill your destiny.
